I&#8217;m 50 years old and a teacher in a small school in a small town in western Massachusetts. I have a wife of 25 years and three sons. I recently started to expand my ideas for &#8220;What ifs&#8221; in sports. This led to creating the web site Distant Replay Sports so that I can have them all in one place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What is MLF?<\/strong> MLF stands for Major League Football. I came up with the idea that the AFL\/NFL merger happened, but more along the lines of the old AL\/NL merger in Major League Baseball. So, no interleague play until the championship. How might it change the history of the league? Initially, I thought that it might work as a replay league like the USFL Distant Replay and American Basketball Federation. But, in an attempt to keep things simple, I decided instead to write it as a wiki that collects the shared history of the league.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What does that cover?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Merger (1960-1970)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Classic Era (1970-1989)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Expansion Era (1990-2001)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Integration (2001-2019)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After that, the timeline merges with our own again and the remainder of the history matches what we know from the NFL.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Who am I?
